| Attractions For an insight into the areas rich industrial history a trip to the Swansea Maritime and Industrial Museum is an absolute must. Theres plenty to interest visitors from vintage cars and old steam tugs, to the worlds first passenger train. Swansea Castle is a Norman castle dating back to the 14th century. Its turbulent past, including being used as a 19th century prison, is evident from the ruined state youll find it in today. Yet this historic site is still well worth a visit. In homage to Dylan Thomas you can visit the Dylan Thomas Centre where youll find details of his work in an exhibition entitled ‘Man and Myth. The centre is also responsible for the annual Dylan Thomas Festival hosted at the end of October. For evening entertainment how about seeing a production at the Dylan Thomas Theatre, or perhaps book tickets at the Grand Theatre for some ballet or opera. Whilst for an excellent mix of film, dance and live music try the Taliesin Arts Centre, part of Swansea University.
